Before Light

The dark morning before light, I sit watching and waiting, looking for you.  My thoughts are scattered but I sit to come into your presence, to rest in the silence and solitude of your peace.  My restless anxious heart desires to abide but my emotions rush in and captivate my soul. Running down my thoughts to catch and quiet them, to silence the voices of defeat and failure to hear your voice.

Closing my eyes I breath in slowly, exhale worry inhale peace.  Embracing this quiet time to concentrate and focus my mind on the Lover of my soul, the Peacemaker. I whisper His name, Jesus. All other thoughts flee, I listen.  Reaching out to embrace, there I am abiding.
